Fall Fun at Peddler’s Village

By Lennix Horsburgh | Multimedia Producer

Last week, DelVal Student Media had the chance to explore Peddler’s Village and soak in the fall festivities. Autumn is a special time of year at the village, with festive decorations, seasonal events, delicious treats and plenty of activities. The fall lineup included the Pet Photography Competition and Exhibit, Scarecrows in the Village, the Scarecrow Festival, Oktoberfest and the Annual VFR-CLC & Phila LCOC Fall Car Show. And the fun isn’t over yet.

Students popped into many of the village’s unique shops, browsing fun knickknacks and discovering the little treasures Peddler’s Village has to offer. They satisfied their sweet tooth with treats from Lucky Cupcake Bakery and grabbed a drink at Mama Hawk’s, which becomes “Luke’s” during the fall season. Along the way, they met Dover, a super-friendly husky, and spent some time searching for frogs and fish in the village’s picture-perfect pond.

One of our favorite parts of the visit was checking out the creative scarecrows made by local shops, businesses and even students. Each one had its own personality, making it hard to pick a favorite. In fact, multimedia producer Izzy kept exclaiming, “That’s my favorite one!” every time she spotted a new scarecrow. With so many unique designs to admire, it was easy to see why.

But the seasonal fun doesn’t stop with fall. Peddler’s Village has plenty of exciting events coming up as it moves from spooky season into the holiday season. Here are some upcoming events to add to your calendar:
